Mythology Osiris - Anubis

🤩🇪🇬 At the end of the trial, Osiris passed sentence: If the heart was less heavy than the feather of Maat, and the sentence was positive, his Ka (the vital force) and his Ba (the soul force) could go to meet the mummy, form the Aj (the "beneficial being") and live forever in the fields of Aaru (Paradise in Egyptian mythology). But if the verdict was negative, and his Ib was heavier than Maat's feather, then Maat was thrown at Ammyt, the devourer of the dead (a being with a crocodile head, hippopotamus hind legs and mane, torso and forelegs lion), which ended with him. This was called the second death and meant for the deceased the end of his immortal condition; that person ceased to exist for the history of Egypt.

Cartonnage of Panehsy

 Cartonnage of Panehsy

The mummy shell of the priest Panehsy is a very beautiful specimen. It is decorated with winged figures of gods and hieroglyphs. These paintings have a general protective meaning. The back of the sleeve features a djed pillar, the Egyptian symbol for sustainability and eternal existence.

This tight-fitting mummy sleeve is made of layers of linen with plaster (cartonnage). The material of such a sleeve consisted of linen soaked in gum Arabic. It was then plastered, pulled around the mummy and tied at the back with laces. The sleeve was painted in all kinds of colors and often decorated with gold leaf.

Finally, the wooden beard is inlaid with blue pieces of probably glass.

ALEXANDRIA 1897

Mohamed Ali Square, Alexandria Egypt.
By the 1880s, Alexandria had blossomed into a thriving port city, its layout and architecture reflecting the strong European influences at play.
Its medieval streets were blown out into grand boulevards and public squares, and the laying of modern, eventually electrified, streetcar track was a beacon of progress within the heavily colonialized Egyptian city.
In 1882, the British further invested in the Alexandria Tramway, followed by an even larger investment by a Belgian rail company in 1897, who bought the rights to the Tramway, which thereafter became known as the Alexandria Tramway Company.
Following its European takeover, the Alexandria Tramway began the process of electrification, in keeping with similar street rail systems around the world.

The Red Abbey

"The red monastery"
«The Red Abbey»
• The Red Monastery is one of the three remaining archaeological landmarks of Byzantine architecture worldwide.
• Established by Amba Peshay in the early 4th century, it is considered one of the most important monasteries in the history of the Orthodox Church and is also considered one of the important monasteries built in the early Christian times.
• The Red Monastery is located in the west of Sohag city at a distance of about 21 km.
• I use red brick as a basic material in my construction so I call it Red Monastery as well as white limestone and some pink and black granite columns.
• The monastery has 6 churches
1-The Main Church
It is the Church of Anba Bejol and Anba Bishay, which is a rectangular space divided into a plate with 3 wings
2- Church of the St. Virgin Mary
3- Church of St. Anbaccaras the Tourist
4- Church of the Monks
5- Church of the Martyr Abskheron Al-Kalini
6- Church of Saints Maximus and Dumaeus
• The Abbey Church at its eastern end is finished with a triangular structure decorated with murals depicting Torahic scenes including Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the four Gospels. The Abbey also has a three-fold structure of the church which is one of its landmarks.
• The monastery is characterized by doors that are very magnificent and sophisticated, and they have patterns resembling leaves of trees, some others, stars, and some geometric shapes that are penetrated by the drawing of a cross in their parts.
• The key of the monastery is made of iron, bronze and silver, 35 cm long, its design is very beautiful and is now in the Egyptian Museum.
• The monastery was burned twice
The First during Roman Reigns
And the second one is because of the Barbarian act, and the fortress, which is located on the southern side of the church, probably dates back to the era of Empress Helena and there are remains of architectural parts to the north of the church, and it is believed to be parts of an industrial city.

Fouad Street in the early twentieth century, Alexandria

A rare photo of Fouad Street in the early twentieth century, Alexandria Fouad Street If you are a resident of Alexandria or even a fan of this charming city, you certainly know Fouad Street well-known, it is one of the most important streets of the Bride of the Mediterranean, due to the style of its ancient buildings. This street dates back to the era of heroism, which was called the "Canobian Way", as it was then called Mina Rashid Street, because it started from Rashid Gate in the ancient Arabian fences and then headed east towards the suburb of Abi Qeer, also known as the "Freedom Way". The buildings in this street are characterized by the ancient Greek style mixed with Italian architecture, and the nationalities that have lived in Alexandria for a long time Fouad Street is located in the Raml Station, in the center of Alexandria, and every facility has a history that is talked about, whether in the Attarin Police Department, located at the beginning of the street, on one side, represented the main British Guard Center in Alexandria, which was next to the club where Muhammad Ali used to meet. I with friends, and it was community meeting Greek, Italian, French and English, and now the centre of freedom for creativity. The street features the National Museum, which was the villa of the Greek timber trader Basili, founded in the modern Italian style, and remained there until 1954, then sold it to the American Embassy, which remained there until it was purchased by the Supreme Council of Archeques in 1996, and contains a magnificent collection of archeological artifacts Insomnia that was extracted from sea water The Medieval has a collection of about 1800 artefacts that encompasses all eras from the ancient state to the modern era and completes the collection contained by the Greek Museum. The street was known as the street of kings, and the stars of politics, culture and art came to it, the most prominent of them is Um Kulthum who used to buy flowers from the old shop on this street, as well as newspapers and magazines that were still sold in Fouad Aba street. One of the most important features is the Fouad Opera House Street in Alexandria, which was built by the French engineer George Park and was long known as "Teatro Muhammad Ali", and its name was changed to the Sayed Darwish Theater in 1962, where it held shows for the most famous Egyptian and international artists. At the end of Fouad Street, there is a flower clock that regularly ticks in front of the gardens of the waterfalls, which includes the remains of Islamic Alexandria monuments such as the old fences and the waterfall tank, consisting of three-story, divided in length and width into five sections by granite columns of different styles and the shapes. In a stripped villa on Fouad Street, the Egyptian leader Saad Zaghloul spoke to the citizens of Alexandria urges them to struggle and reform, and Syed Darwish, who came from the Kom Al-Dakka area, sang for him, and participated with the audience the struggle to sing.
