Along the Nile Valley, north and south of Luxor, are three of the most remarkable sites in ancient Egypt: Denderah, an extraordinarily well-preserved site with deep crypts, Kom Ombo, or "Temple of the Two Deities," is divided into two parts. The Edfu Temple dedicated to Horus, the falcon god, is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt and the second largest sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak.
