Ra send Sekhmet

In ancient Egyptian belief, Ra, the sun god, was angry with humans for mocking him. He sent Sekhmet, the vengeful image of Hathor, to take revenge on them. She killed these humans. However, Sekhmet enjoyed this task so much that she went on killing people to the point that she almost wiped out all of humanity. Here, Ra tricked Sekhmet by offering her large quantities of beer colored red, which resembled the color of blood. She drank from it, became drunk, and calmed down until she stopped killing.
