My opinion
the pyramide in Giza yup, impressif to see inside outside, but to be honest the Sakara area have much more to offer,
Giza give some side effects i do not like
agresive vendors
Pyramids is obligatory, but can be disappointing. the ugly skyline of ugly architectural development and smoggy skies. Camel owners will pester you into taking a ride. Therefore, I recommend you keep your visit short before moving on to Saqqara, the most impressive archaeological site in Egypt.
My Daygther on honeymoon 2009 had a very bad experience, she took a ide in horse and carriage from the hotel... she told me the driver not resposable, an drive dangerous to the pyramide. Once there, unfortunate i was not with them, one of the camel drivers offer a camel ride for a low price, once ended, he guy ask more money to let the camel sit down,
this happened more then once in other places , this trick they use before low price and next more to get of the camel.
another time i visit again the Pyramides. i drive to the parking in Giza to enter, the monuments, 3 guys jump on the car. try to get me in a carriage. i turn the car and did not visit, this was 2012 the year between the revolutions, no police to help us,
Why i give this info.
almost al individuals have bad experiances
when i visit in 2008 the guide keep the vendors away,
SAQQARA
ON THE ENTRANCE YOU HAVE THE OPORTUNITY TO BUY TICKET FOR EXTRA'S
the MUSEUM HAVE OFCOURSE ARTIFACTS. i see it but honnestly not wow.
you can buy there extra's i did but the amount was big to see all
i see --- butcher tomb,,, extra ticket
the brothers tomb Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum (others say the gay tomb) extra ticket
AT THE TICKET OFFICE THE PRICE LIST TOURIST PRICE AND LOCALS
CHOOSE CAREFULL BEFORE YOU GO IN
the ticket office is down the Pyramide 1 km up road.
i am talking now i go individual, no idea how some offices work,
i ask once agency but they offer mostly total prices,, rarely the extra's you can see
beside SAQQARA pyramide, you have the serapeum don't forget, i did all in one day
