Alexandria

Mohammed Feiter Palace

Mohammed Feiter Palace before the intersection of Sultan Hussein and Nabi Daniel streets in downtown Alexandria, Egypt. The palace is currently an antiques shop. The building was originally owned by a Greek family but it had not been modified as it is seen in the photo, but it was a residential building like other buildings. One of its tenants was Mohamed Feiter, who bought the building from its original Greek owner and started his activity in the trade of antiques. One of Mohammed Feiter's sons, who was an engineer, started doing repairs and modifications on the building, after he successfully negotiated with the residents to evacuate the building completely.

The son continued to search in Europe, specifically Italy, for the best decorations and designs for buildings and began to transfer them all until he completed the building as it is now. The son, who was attached to his father's love, insisted that his father's name, Mohamed Feiter, be placed on the building. He also insisted that the building be included in the list of archaeological buildings in the country so that it would not be demolished in the future and that his father's name would remain engraved on it as seen from the outside.
